General Rules

I. DISCIPLINARY RULES

  1. Students are expected to behave in a gentle and courteous manner towards their fellow students and teachers.
  2. Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. They are advised not to bring money unnecessarily.
  3. Students are forbidden, to write or scribble on the walls, desks. Any damage done to the school property must be paid for at the discretion of the disciplinary committee.
  4. Unwanted arguments with any staff member in the campus will be seriously dealt with.
  5. Students using foul language, uncouth behavior will be expelled from the school. The disciplinary committee’s decision will be final in this regard.
  6. Students are strictly forbidden to ride bikes to the school.
  7. Students using the school van are expected to behave properly. Van services will not be extended to students who misbehave or cause any damage to the van.
  8. Students who go home alone, should not loiter on the way but be prompt in returning home. Parents are asked to have a watch over on this.

III. Leave and Absence

  1. All students are expected to attend school on the reopening day. Similarly, no student is allowed to leave for vacation earlier than the closing day.
  2. In case of repeated absence without prior permission for more than three consecutive days, the parent should accompany the student and meet the principal in person.
  3. No absentee should enter the class without a written permission from the principal.
  4. Students suffering from contagious or infectious diseases will be advised not to attend school until they are cured. When they rejoin school they must produce a medical certificate.

IV. Norms for granting permission

  1. Written permission is required in advance to attend classes after the second bell (8.30 am).
  2. No student will be permitted to leave the school during the school hours. In case of an emergency, a written permission from the parent is required and the student will be sent only with the parent.
  3. During examinations permission will not be granted.
  4. Parents are advised not to pickup their children after the examination on full working days.

V. Rules for late comers

  1. Parents should make it a point to send their children to school on time.
  2. If late with a proper reason, parent should inform it through the late attendance in the agenda.
  3. The parent should meet the principal if the student is late to school for more then three days in a month.

VI. Assessments / Examination

  1. Periodic assessment is essential for understanding the abilities and needs of the student and helps in enhancing the academic performance of the individual. Keeping this in mind regular class tests are conducted and the marks are entered in the class test record in the agenda and in the learner’s profile

  3. Progress report will be sent after the examinations and assessments, which have to be duly signed and sent to school within two days.

VII. Promotion Criteria

  1. The student should have a minimum of 80% attendance in the academic year.
  2. The student should have a minimum of 40% in all subject throughout the academic year.
  3. Students who indulge in indisciplinary activities will be given a compulsory transfer certificate. No discussions will be entertained in this regard. The decision of the disciplinary committee will be the final.

VIII. Uniform code

Attire is not only a reflection of the individual student, but also of the general learning environment. Therefore students have the responsibility to wear clothing that projects a positive attitude of pride in self, school and the community.

  • All students should wear the uniform provided by the school only.
  • All students should wear blazers on all first working days of the week.
  • All students should wear the navy blue socks provided by the school along with black leather cut-shoes for girls and black leather lace-shoes for boys.
  • All students wear white T-Shirt on Fridays.
  • All boys should wear the tie provided by the school.
  • On Saturdays that are assigned as working days for classes IX-XII only, students should come in regular school uniform.
  • On Saturdays that are assigned as working days for classes I-XII all students should come in decent colour dresses.
  • Any dress or statement on it that may cause a hostile, intimidating, degrading, offensive, harassing or discriminatory environment is prohibited.
  • Wearing gold/silver chain or other gold/silver accessories except gold studs in the case of girls is prohibited. If lost the school will not be responsible.
  • Hairstyle for boys: crew cut, Face should be clean shaved.
  • Hairstyle for girls: Hair length below shoulder level should have two plaits. School scrunches/bows only should be used. No free hair allowed even with coloured clothes.
  • Dress code for non-participants of all classes for school Annual Day.
    • Boys: Formal Black pants with white shirt with formal white black shoes and tie.
    • Girls: Formal Black skirt with white shirt with formal white socks/black shoes and scarf.
  • Dress code on Sports Day: Sports dress/cap provided by the school and white socks and white canvas shoes.
  • Dress code on the day of field trip: Friday uniform with white socks and canvas shoes. Hat/cap permitted.

X. Norms for application of Transfer Certificate (TC)

  1. Parents may please note that all applications for the issue of TC should be made in writing on or before 31st March of the academic year.
  2. Applications received after the deadline mentioned would attract a processing fee of Rs. 3000/-
  3. If the TC is applied beyond 10th April up to 30th April, the late fee is Rs. 5000/-
  4. Requisition for TC beyond 30th April will not be accepted and if it is accepted Rs. 10000/- has to be paid as TC late fee.
  5. During the middle of the academic year, transfer certificate can be issued only on valid and genuine reasons. All dues and arrears along with that academic year’s fee should be cleared.

XI. Parent Teacher Communication

  1. Day to day parent teacher written communication can be done through parent/teacher Comments column in the school agenda.
  2. Parents are advised not to contact the teachers directly through mobile phone to discuss any issue related to their child performance and discipline.
    • If any parent wants to meet the class teacher / any subject teacher, they should get prior permission from the school office.
    • The parent can meet the teachers only on Friday between 3.30 p.m – 4.00 p.m.
  3. Open days are organized as per the school calendar schedule. Parents are requested to attend and meet the teachers to discuss their child’s performance.

IX. Objectionable Materials

  1. Students are strictly forbidden to bring any sort of reading material like comics, magazines or any books other than their text books.
  2. Electronic gadgets like walkmans, iPods, cell phones, cameras, game boxes (PSP, Nintendo etc) can bring about distractions and hence are not permitted into the school campus. If confiscated they will not be returned back.
  3. Gift articles of any kind should not be exchanged among the students inside the campus.
